Ubuntu One Music Store - An iTunes Equivalent For Linux Users

In the next version of Ubuntu - namely Lucid Lynx, you will find a well integrated Music store in the same lines as Apple's  iTunes for Mac and Windows users. With one major difference namely - Ubuntu One music store will be selling DRM free songs. Each song will use 256 kpbs (or higher) encoding which enhances the quality of the song.

I have always been an avid Vi enthusiast. And I have tried to keep abreast of the new features in Vi. Did you know Vi has a powerful adversary ? Yes you guessed it right, it is Emacs. But that has not stopped Vi from gaining faithful followers for itself. Myself being one of the staunch supporters of Vi.

Vim is the modern avataar of Vi and is created and maintained by Bram Moolenaar. Vim is choke full of features which would put any other text editor (except perhaps Emacs) to shame.

Inkscape - A noteworthy open source vector graphics software

Inkscape is an open source, feature-full vector graphics environment with capabilities similar to Adobe Illustrator. Inkscape uses the W3C standard SVG file format. It supports many advanced SVG features like markers, clones, alpha blending and so on.

What is more, Inkscape is cross platform and is available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X platforms.

All you want to know about Google Chrome OS in a Nutshell

Google recently lifted the curtains on its soon to be flagship product Google Chrome OS - a heavily customized Operating system which runs on top of the Linux kernel. Google did this with great panache by releasing the source code of the operating system under an open source license. The open source part of the operating system is known as Google Chromium OS.

Yahoo Geocities brings fond memories... Not!

My first web page was in Yahoo Geocities. That was a time when the now ubiquitous server side technologies like PHP had yet to make an appearance. Yahoo was one of the few web hosts who were providing amateur website builders like myself a platform to host our files.

While I did find Geocities very useful to host files, I was always irritated by the protruding Yahoo ads on my website which were ruining my web page design. If you are wondering how my web site looked, then here is a screenshot I saved for nostalgic reasons.
