A Neoconservative commentator and scholar has stated that Obama can save his presidency and turn around his plummeting approval ratings by bombing Iran.
Pro-war fanatic Daniel Pipes, has penned a despicable piece on conservative website National Review Online, calling for preemptive airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“Here is an idea for Barack Obama to salvage his tottering administration by taking a step that protects the United States and its allies,” Pipes writes.
“He needs a dramatic gesture to change the public perception of him as a light-weight, bumbling ideologue, preferably in an arena where the stakes are high, where he can take charge, and where he can trump expectations.”
“Such an opportunity does exist,” Pipes adds. “Obama can give orders for the U.S. military to destroy Iran’s nuclear-weapon capacity.”
“Just as 9/11 caused voters to forget George W. Bush’s meandering early months, a strike on Iranian facilities would dispatch Obama’s feckless first year down the memory hole and transform the domestic political scene,” he continues.
“It would sideline health care,’ he continues, “prompt Republicans to work with Democrats, make netroots squeal, independents reconsider, and conservatives swoon.” Pipes states.
Pipes was a staunch supporter of the Vietnam war and a strong advocate for the invasion of Iraq. He is also supports Israel in the Arab-Israeli conflict and is completely opposed to any form of Palestinian state.
Despite this, Pipes, who rejects the term “neocon”, referring to himself as “plain conservative”, was nominated to the board of the United States Institute of Peace by George W. Bush in 2003.
He is also the head of a think tank named the Middle East Forum, and its website Campus Watch, which has been fiercely criticized as anti-Islamic. Campus Watch was also accused of “McCarthyesque intimidation” of professors who criticized Israel when it published “dossiers” on eight professors it thought “hostile” to America.
With regards to Iran, Pipes has advocated that the U.S. “unleash” the right-wing terrorist organization Mujahedeen-e Khalq (MEK) against Iran. It is well known that that MEK has direct ties to the CIA, and there is already evidence relating to use of the group against Iran in covert operations.
Pipes occupies a long list of neocon policy wonks and academics who share the same fetish for more war and more terrorism in the name of “uniting the country”, seemingly unphased by the complete ignorance of their comments and the depth of their depravity.
The past few days have seen an intensification in rhetoric regarding the geopolitical situation in the Persian Gulf. Last week Obama warned Iran of “growing consequences” with reference to the country’s nuclear ambitions.
The Iranian government then stated that the nation will deliver a harsh blow to “global arrogance” on February 11th, the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The U.S. has retaliated to what it sees as Iran’s growing missile threat by deploying a land and sea-based missile shield to protect American allies in the Gulf, according to administration officials.
Iran’s government responded by calling the deployment a “puppet show”, adding that it represents “nothing except a new political ploy to increase the [American] military presence at the expense of others.”

I agree but what I can’t figure is,why do any sane and moral men and women join the military and risk their lives for a bunch of cowardly “chickenhawks” that have never fought in any war.
The worse our economy and jobs the easier it is to recruit folks that have no job skills. If the option to join the military was no available,would these youngsters be so weak so as to just do anything to make a buck?
If my family were hungry,I may resort to doing a lot of things but I sure would not hire myself out to kill whoever the money man wants killed.
Today’s military has the mindset of,show me the target and I will kill it. They do not even ask themselves if they are killing real enemies to the U.S.
Why should millions of innocents have to die for what George Chickenhawk Bush allowed 19 radicles do? At the very least the buildings came down and crushed 3000 people because Bush and others allowed it to happen. They were told to stay in the buildings so that a large number would be killed so that America would be so angered that they would feel that Bush’s war was justified. The war plans were alredy drawn up. They just needed a Pearl Harbor type event so as to sell the idea to the American public.

That’s WHY the kids were dumbed down in the public schools. I nearly died when a girl told me that the Army recruiter said: ‘five weeks of basic and straight to Iraq’. WHAT?!! What about Advanced Individual Training (AIT, where you go after basic training – cooks to cook school, infantry to infantry school, etc.)? What would her M.O.S. (military occupational specialty – infantry is 11B) be? If you don’t get to go learn a skill, then I guess it IS straight to Iraq. But did she know better until I told her?
What I think might be better is instead of the young kids refusing military service, have EVERYONE refuse a cashless society. Refuse a job that doesn’t pay a paycheck. Refuse plastic. And of course, it would take the one thing Americans can no longer do, which is UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.

I think a lot of folks have Obama remorse. Problem is the other guy was no better. I voted for Baldwin, who Ron Paul endorsed after he didn’t get the nomination. While I had even recently thought that Alex Jones was just an ego-maniac that was just out to make money. But with what you will see below, you’ll see he is 100% controlled opposition. There was NOT just one agenda at the event Monday.
The legitimate rally was organized to call attention to a 2nd amendment infringement issue. Organizers were extremely deliberate in aiming to focus the message on points relevant to firearm rights and the issue at hand. The organizing groups have worked very hard to establish good media relationships and they had blasted out to numerous media outlets some precise talking points in a well-crafted press release. The media vans were positioned across the street from the police station by 3:30 when I arrived – multiple media trucks had their booms up ready to run live broadcasts on the 5pm news.
Now let me tell you what I observed about Alex.
Alex swaggered up to the protest area with an entourage of 8 or 9 people (mostly his videographers) at just a couple of minutes past 5 o’clock. The first thing I noticed was that it looked like he was wearing makeup… so I thought ‘Oh, I guess Alex is here to get some footage for an upcoming NWO film’. But then it became apparent to me he was there to do more than that…
He looked directly at the *legitimate* rally organizer already speaking on the police department steps. He positioned himself directly in front of the ongoing rally (between the rally and the media trucks) and began bullhorning *extremely* loudly about how the “Media are LIARS!! Mainstream media is nothing but BS!!” Yadda yadda. Now, you’d think Alex – with all his years of experience – would realize the effect this would have. It, of course, resulted in cancellation of all the LIVE broadcasts. They couldn’t air live. Period. If he had actually been yelling about gun control issues, maybe they could have.
Alex could have chosen to jump right into the 2nd amendment issues, if his agenda was to bring attention to the problem of gun control. But he didn’t. That stuff became mixed in here and there later.
For two hours, Alex stayed on a maniacal trajectory insulting numerous people at the event – including his fans, including Catherine Bleish, and including the director of the Texas Libertarian Party. He was a grotesque caricature of himself, IMO.
Mostly I was heartbroken that he would trash the hard work of the organizers by neutralizing the press coverage they had at-the-ready.
And then there’s the fact that Alex over-spoke an excellent lineup of planned speakers. In the lineup were two local attorneys who have been examining the specifics of the gun show shutdown case that prompted the rally, Catherine Bleish (Liberty Restoration Project), Robert Butler (Director of the LP Texas), and Darwin Boedecker (the owner of the gun store that was shut down).
